Her work in horror films has earned her the title the horror queen. She first became known for her role as Marnie Michaels on the HBO comedy-drama program Girls (2012-2017), which earned her a Critics' Choice Award nomination. She made her breakthrough with her role as Rose Armitage, in the film of the same name, Get Out (2017). It earned her MTV Movie Awards nominations and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
