The baby was born on 29 March 1985 at Roswell near New Mexico. Gerina Michelle is her maiden name. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). She is Mexican-American by heritage but has American nationality. The desire to be a sportsperson began as a small kid. Gerina started playing golf when she was 15 years old. Gerina attended Goddard High School for her high school education. As a high school student, Gerina was the winner of in the New Mexico golf state tournament. Along with volleyball, she competed on an official level. She began attending the University of Texas. While in her senior years she was a winner of every tournament which she participated in. In her undergraduate year, she received Conference USA's individual player of year, as well as UTEP's Female Athletic of the Year.
